B.P.J College of Arts and Science established in 2000 and it is located in Srimushnam, Cuddalore District, Tamilnadu. The Aim of the College is to provide quality education from Nursery to Graduation. To provide realistic education with innovative methods and best efforts for inculcating human values, professionalism and scientific instillation in the realm of Degree Education to all sections of students irrespective of race, region and religion with special focus to stand independently. The dream of starting a college at Srimushnam to serve students, by Mr.B.Padmanabhan the Founder of the Padmanabhan Educational Trust has come true. Our Founder Shri B. Padmanabhan the philanthropist of Srimushnam, one of the most backward areas of cuddalore district.

“Service to the poor is the service of god”. In the smile of the poor is the presence of the Divinity – all these are the sound philosophy and the governing principal of this noble man who established: Padmanabhan Educational and Charitable Trust in 1999, and it were granted in the name of B. Padmanabhan Jayanthimala College of arts and science as per the Govt. Order No. M.S. 150 dt.29/05/2000 and subsequently obtained affiliation from the University of Madras in the academic year 2000 – 2001. And now we are ending a Diploma Course in JP College, and we are in an origin to have B.ed Course in JP College of Education.

Vision & Mission

The vision of college is to Develop into a Centre of Quality and Excellence in Imparting Relevant and Value Based Education to the Rural Youth, imparting quality education in this fact changing technological world. The mission of college to promote our learners’ skills in their chosen areas of specialization, facilitate the employability of our learners to give them a vocation through education, collaborate with our stakeholders for quality education and make the students the learners socially committed, morally upright, physically vibrant and spiritually inspired citizens.

Our Facilities


The placement procedures commence by sending placement invitation to the companies enclosing a brief summary of the academic curriculum. A Job Response Form (JRF) is also sent to the recruiters asking details about company, job description, salary, etc.

In response, companies submit completely filled Job Response Form (JRF) to the T & P office.

The Training & Placement Officer conducts an orientation program for the students during which, placement procedures, placement policy, etc. are discussed and all the doubts, students may have, are addressed.

Then the placement office collects students' information in the Bio-data form.

The company has a choice of visiting the campus for a Pre-Placement Talk either before the selection processes or along with the final recruitment.

On receipt of confirmation and JRF, the placement office announces the requirements of the company, thereby allowing interested students to indicate their willingness to participate in particular companies' Campus Recruitment Procedure and resumes of these students are then submitted to the company.

The company shortlists the candidate from the application pool and then sends the same to the Placement Office.

Our Admission procedure

The procedure for admission is as per Thiruvalluvar University guidelines issued every year. Any student who has completed the Higher Secondary Course recognized by the Thiruvalluvar University is eligible for admission to the bachelor degree course. The application for the course can be obtained from the college office on payment of Rs.200/- The filled-in application form along with the following documents should reach the college office before the date mentioned.

Documents to be attached along with the application (4 Copies)

Age certificate (SSLC first page)

Mark list of the qualifying examination.

Certificate from parish vicar for community quota.

Caste certificate for reservation quota.

Certificate for weightage marks specifying the marks to be given.

Separate application form for management quota.

Documents to be produced at the time of admission

Intimation card.

Original mark list of Higher Secondary School qualifying examination.

Transfer certificate.

Certificate of good conduct.

Four passport size colour photographs with name and application number on the reverse side.

Certificate required for weightage marks in original.

Income certificate/caste certificate in the case of fee concession.

Migration certificate for students from universities other than M.G. University.

Eligibility certificate if necessary.

Migration certificate for CBSE students.


If the selected candidates fail to produce the above documents or to remit the fees in time, they will lose their claim for admission.

Please keep sufficient attested copies of certificates before submitting the originals.

Candidates who are selected for the admission will be intimated at a later date.

The candidates will have to present themselves for an interview along with the parent before the principal on the date specified.

On the behalf of B.Padmanabhan Jayanthimala College of Arts and Science in particular, I appreciate the interest shown by you in our institution. at present education is undergoing a sea change and it is quite understandable that it becomes difficult to make decisions about which course and which college to choose. The ultimate aim of education is not just creation and dissemination of knowledge but also to develop global competencies and build the overall moral character of the learner. We believe that learning beyond classroom is equally important as classroom interactions. Therefore, students are encouraged to organize and participate in various co curricular and extracurricular activities as well as sports. The innovative curriculum and the state of art infrastructure coupled with optimum utilization of available resources helps our institution to out stand among others.
